What is sensitive skin?

Skin can be sensitive in varying degrees. To some, the sensitivity can be a more or less permanent condition, where the skin is constantly itchy and inflamed, while some only experience occasional flare ups and others aren’t even aware they have sensitive skin until their skin reacts to a certain product. Usually, sensitive skin is a symptom of another condition such as allergy, rosacea, or eczema, and your skin can react in different ways depending on what condition it’s reflecting. The most common symptoms of sensitive skin are inflammations, rashes, and flaky skin that feels itchy or stings. Put shortly, it’s not a comfortable condition to be dealing with, which is why it’s essential you treat your skin with the right products to keep it calm and soothed.

How do I treat sensitive skin?

To combat burning sensations, red flushes, and seemingly ever-lasting irritations, you need to take your skincare as well as non-skincare routines into account. Habits of long, overly hot showers and fragrant detergents might sound nice, but these are two non-skincare factors that can trigger a reaction in sensitive skin, possibly worsening its condition.
